A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that receives contributions from donors and grants educational scholarships to eligible students in Ohio. Individuals and entities that contribute to SGOs participating in the program can receive a tax credit. The SGO program was enacted in September 2021 Section 5747.43.

Individuals and businesses may choose to support the BBH SGO through voluntary contributions. Contributions are made directly to the BBH SGO and are designated exclusively for tuition assistance purposes.

The BBH SGO reviews applications and determines scholarship eligibility based on established criteria, with priority given to families demonstrating financial need. Scholarship awards are determined solely by the BBH SGO and are applied toward all-day Kindergarten tuition.

Your SGO donation can be claimed when you file your Ohio taxes for the year in which you make your gift. The credit is a dollar-to-dollar reduction in your state tax liability up to $750 per taxpayer.
A married couple filing jointly can claim a credit of up to $1500. To receive the full tax credit, you must have an Ohio tax liability equal to or greater than the amount of the credit. -

Supporting the BBH SGO
Supporters may contribute to the BBH Bees Scholarship Granting Organization as a way to invest in education as well as help expand access to all-day Kindergarten for students in the Brecksville–Broadview Heights community.
Contributions are administered independently by the BBH SGO and are used to direct tuition assistance in accordance with Ohio law.
Ohio Income Tax Credit
Individuals and businesses that pay Ohio state income tax may be eligible for a dollar-for-dollar Ohio income tax credit, subject to state limits and individual tax circumstances.
Not all donors are eligible to receive the credit. Only those with Ohio state income tax liability may qualify. Donors are encouraged to consult a tax professional regarding their specific situation.
